Experience Everett best stop for events, activities info
Website provides valuable information for tourists and residents
EVERETT – Experience Everett is a new initiative to provide tourists and residents information about Everett events and activities via a destination website: experienceeverett.com.
In addition to the new web presence, Experience Everett is active in social media, including Facebook and Twitter, to maximize reach inside and outside the region and continue the conversation online.
“This website was a vital first step,” said Sean Straub, coordinator of Experience Everett. “To promote the lively, fun place that makes travelers want to stop or stay in Everett, it’s important that we get the word out about the richly authentic events and attractions our city has to offer. We firmly believe that this website showcases our unique qualities to travelers while engaging local residents, too.”
Experience Everett also plans to create custom events and experiences that will draw more people to Everett, ultimately generating more overnight stays. Last summer, several events drew over 20,000 people into the City of Everett. One of those events, co-hosted by Experience Everett, was the inaugural Everett Craft Beer Festival, bringing more than 3,400 into downtown Everett. Several nearby restaurants reported a jump in business ranging from 50 percent to 120 percent that day.
In 2009, Snohomish County Tourism reports that visitors spent more than $900 million in Snohomish County, contributing direct spending benefits to retailers, restaurants, hotels and other businesses while providing employment to nearly 15,000 people in the county.
